Google has launched its first Australian campaign aimed at marketers in a bid to raise awareness about its display advertising platform.
Created by Google’s Creative Lab and marketing team, the ‘Watch This Space’ campaign is aimed at agencies and marketers and will include online, print, direct mail, and outdoor activity. Media planning and buying was handled by PHD while Sputnik Agency managed the creative process locally. The campaign aims to demonstrate what is possible when the science of search meets the art of display and uses Google’s primary colour scheme with blue, yellow, red, and green advertising “spaces”. The ads are focused on three key areas: simplifying display advertising with products like DoubleClick for Advertisers and DoubleClick for Publishers, delivering performance for advertisers across the Google Display Network including YouTube, and opening the display ecosystem for more players. Karen Stocks, head of display at Google Australia, said: “‘Watch ThisSpace’ is about the exciting changes taking place in the industry and the potential for display advertising to be a truly engaging, relevant, and measurable medium.”
Google is already working closely with Australian agencies, advertisers, and publishers with 17 of the top 20 advertisers in Australia – as ranked by Nielsen- advertising on the Google Display Network.
